As an election looms, what is the cost of progress?
Harmond Wilks, a successful real estate developer, is on the verge of becoming Pittsburgh’s first Black mayor. His ambitious redevelopment project for the Hill District, his childhood neighborhood, promises economic growth and a new future. However, his plans are thrown into turmoil when he encounters an elderly man who refuses to sell his rundown house—a house with a deep connection to the neighborhood’s history and the spirit of the past. As Wilks grapples with this unexpected conflict, he is forced to confront the true cost of progress, the meaning of legacy, and the responsibility he has to his community.
This bittersweet drama of assimilation and alienation in 90s America traces the forces of change on a neighborhood and its people caught between history and progress. Radio Golf challenges us to consider what we are willing to sacrifice for the sake of the future.
“Surprising, suspenseful, and crowd-rousing… crackling comedy, engaging snap, and theatrical zest.” – The New York Times
